Announcing a new West Yorkshire Years of Culture action learning programme
In late 2024, West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) appointed us to deliver a Knowledge Sharing Programme centred around West Yorkshire’s five Years of Culture programmes: Kirklees Year of Music 2023; LEEDS23; Culturedale 2024; Our Year – Wakefield District 2024, and Bradford UK City of Culture 2025.
Our programme sees us working with Year of Culture teams, local authority colleagues, arts sector organisations, freelancers and other key stakeholders – with a focus on capturing and sharing learning/insights, exploring best practice, considering challenges and identifying problem-solving approaches. Our aim throughout is to nurture networks, foster further collaboration, catalyse continued peer learning and maximise the impact of our work together.
Building on the workshops and open space events we’ve already run, we’re excited to be launching a new action learning programme for anyone involved in the delivery of these Years of Culture.
From May 2025 – Feb 2026, we’ll be running 4 new action learning sets, each of which will meet online once a month (for 1.5 hours), providing members with valuable peer coaching support.
If you’ve not heard of action learning before, it’s a form of group coaching, so it’s not about giving answers, but about helping people to find them themselves, through careful listening, asking open questions and providing thoughtful feedback.
Over the course of the programme, you’ll get inside how action learning works, present about your own challenges, opportunities and dilemmas, help your fellow set members unlock their own new insights, and learn how to become an action learning facilitator yourself.
